Dutch media write on reclaim ancestral remains
Last Saturday during our public program series Read Our Colonial Inheritance artist Manuwi C Tokai and her community of the Kalinya Terewuyu Nation created the intervention “Dear Ancestors We Miss You” . It centers a Kalinya baby stored in a museum depot for almost 100 years. The Kalinya Terewuyu Nation has a legend of a newborn baby boy who was taken away by colonists, and believes that this is that baby’s remains. Dutch media picked this up and wrote about it.
