Lectures, International Exchange, and Meet-Ups

Building transnational, long-term relationships is essential to deepening our understanding of (de)coloniality beyond our own contexts. International knowledge exchange plays a vital role in our practice, fostering new perspectives and ongoing development.

A selection of our lectures and international exchanges

  • Between 2022 and 2024 we were part of the international exchange and exhibition project SOILS with Van Abbemuseum (NL) and TarraWarra Museum of Art (AUS) and Struggles for Sovereignty (IND). We were invited as fellow partner. In 2023 we gave a performance lecture as part of the exchange project. Read more

  • In November 2023, Beyond Walls was invited by the Mayor of Amsterdam to present a lecture on their research findings and approach to De Zee Vertelt. This research and public program project explores contested WWII monuments and examines how they can be made more inclusive for the contemporary city of Amsterdam.

  • Beyond Walls has been invited by lectures of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts to give a performance lecture in Budapest. Beyond Walls gave their lecture titled Care as Resistance: Challenging the Colonial Politics of the Body at the ISBN+ Book & Art Space, Budapest, Hungary in December 2024. Read more.
